ERT and some Fat Tire fun

Took a good long ERT ride on the Bat Mobile yesterday,  took the long was back though turns out trains dont share bridges so well.  Still better than A-hole drivers!

I let the tires a little below the 7 lbs they suggest.... 3lbs :)
Had a couple rim contacts on logs though no flats

But I rode this sand bar all over the Des Moines River

Ewing Park

The Ewing park trail is in great shape now.  I think it will be an awesome winter course too, if I can find the trail in the snow.  Maybe some markers for winter?  Anyway isn't it about time for a quarter rage there?  The tread is beat in enough for fast pace.  I also found a good path there from West Des Moines....

Well the longest ride since DK200 and I can really feel the loss of fitness the last 4 months.  And for some reason it was 85 degrees yesterday!  However it was beautiful! 76 miles of dirt,

Camping Ride

Well we packed up the whole family and rode out to camp.  We stopped at Mullets and had some lunch then off to Saylorville.  Unfortunately all the sites were full so back down the trail to look for alternate camping.  After about 10 miles I found a little dirt path so I investigated.  It was perfect!  A very good night right on the Des Moines river.
It's amazing how a full day of no electronics can help everyones moods.
