Kool stop makes these wonderful winter brake pads, you wouldn't think that the material that the pad is made of would make that much difference in the snow but it really does. Of course disc brakes are always the preference for most off road and winter riding, but I ride 'junkers' for commuting and riding around in the ice and these have worked well.
