Tandem Ride with Austyn
A little cold yesterday, but got out for a tandem ride with Austyn. We tried out the off road abilities of the bike down on ERT. A little freaky at first but not too bad there is going to be a learning curve to figure out anything technical though, even small obstacles are difficult at this point. Should be awesome for gravel it smashed though sections of loose large gravel with no problems and though some muddy stuff.

Gravel Metric #6 and a ride across the High Trestle Bridge
Really I was intending to ride the whole high trestle trail. I got to woodward via gravel roads then hit the trail. After a fast ride to Madrid I though about my plan of hitting the neil smith trail home. I decided to go back on the gravel. I got all the way to the edge of Walkee were the pavement starts and realized I only needed 10 more miles of gravel to call this a metric, so reroute the long way back to West Des Moines.

So they had way to much money for this! |
This would be spectacular in the Summer when it's all green |
Cool look out, next time beer stop (when it's not 30 degrees) |

It looked cooler in person |

East River Trail (GPS)
The trail starts at Mullets but due to construction isnt ridable there. You can however ride the pavement on the otherside of the river and drop in to the Atv trails at e14th street. I stopped at the train bridge due to an unpassable amount of water. It does go for several more miles though

Catholic Drinking Holiday
So after a long long day at work a little ride to the Tap
For some cornbeef hash
Then after getting board...really were is everyone?
I hit the trail early, I had to have my lean-to beer that I carried with me all night so I stopped to post the awesome sunset pics I took from the gravel road outside Cummings
